Rugby Borough Jaguars V Hillmorton Hawks

Rugby Borough Jaguars V Hillmorton Hawks (Sat 12th)
With many teams having been stood down until the New Year, or unable to play due to players isolating, the Hawks were finding it difficult to get a game but were then offered a friendly as a last minute stand in against their old foes.
The last-minute move of playing day meant that the Hawks had a few out, or arriving late, so midfielder Tom D took a turn between the sticks and the opportunity was taken to shuffle the pack and allow the defenders to play further forward. They didn’t disappoint, with Zak L and Jeremy B attacking with great threat, linking up well and finding a few good passes.
The Hawks cruised into a three-goal lead, all scored by Lennon M who seems to be enjoying a purple patch of goals at Kilsby Lane.
Then with the arrival of the remaining players and the innocent intention of allowing all the players a turn in many positions, too many changes took place and confusion set in, allowing Rugby Borough Jaguars more possession and chances on goal, with only in-form goalie, Finaly D and the Hawks rock at the back Isaac S keeping the boys from conceding.
The Jaguars then did manage to get their deserved goal, late on, but the Hawks all put a shift in a saw out the game.
Man of the Match was so close but goes to Zak L whose linkup play was great as well as him being the best at finding space in training this week.
